September already??

As we spring into September it’s hard to believe we’re now getting closer to the end of the year! As always, we can expect new iPhone’s this month which should be the iPhone 17 range. And we may see other updates to some of the product range as well.

Hopefully the weather is starting to turn as well, with some glimpses of sun, after a cold and wet last few months with some very low temperatures. Roll on a bit more heat! (Then we’ll be saying it’s too hot and we want it a bit cooler again)

Apple iPhone event

Apple held their annual iPhone event last evening. We saw updates to the Apple Watch, iPhone line-up, and AirPods Pro—and yes, an all-new "Air" model. Here are the details:

AirPods Pro (3rd gen)

Apple's latest AirPods Pro now come with an optical heart-rate sensor for fitness and health monitoring, better noise cancellation, and real-time translation that plays right in your ears. They also include additional ear-tip sizes and IP57 water resistance for ruggedness.

Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch SE3

The Series 11 comes with slimmer hardware, 5G connectivity, and some other new health features like hypertension monitoring and an all-encompassing Sleep Score. Battery life remains strong around 24 hours, and it now has tougher glass for daily use.

iPhone 17

The standard iPhone 17 features a brighter 6.3-inch OLED with ProMotion 120Hz, a dual 48MP camera system, and Apple's new A19 chip with enhanced networking. Base storage goes up to 256GB.

iPhone 17 Air

Apple's new "Air" model is its thinnest iPhone yet—just 5.6mm. It is made of titanium and has a 6.5-inch 120Hz screen, A19 chip, and all-day battery life in a thin design. It is also eSIM-only around the world.

iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max

Pro models take camera and video further still: the Pro Max includes up to 8× optical zoom, larger sensors, and professional features like ProRes RAW, Log 2, and genlock for multi-camera production. Storage capacity options now go as high as 2TB.
